What You Say Matters

Sometimes I think we go through this life and give absolutely no thought, to the way we talk or what we say. Putting people down is not ok, calling them names is not ok. And yet we live in a world where it doesn't matter. And that's truly sad. Well I say it does matter. Recently the sweetest little girl I follow on twitter, asked all of her followers to tweet a photo of them self with a label that they've been called on there foreheads. And #LoveIsLouder then labels on there hands.

Her name is Devon Haas she is such an amazing little girl. And at only eight years old has had to deal with bullying.

I was vary excited to have the chance to do something with the #LoveIsLouder campaign! While helping Devon with her project. So when I got home from dinner with my sister. I went to my room to think about what I was going to wright on my forehead. And the word I choose is (retarded.) Not only because I've be called this. By because I say it all the time.

And that's the problem. The things we all say and don't think matter. The things I say, and i don't think matter. When they do. I always say that things are "Retarded" like for instance 'that hat is retarded.' or 'Your so retarded.' I'll even say 'I'm retarded.' and before you know it other are calling me that too. And that's when it doesn't feel so go. So then I have to stop myself. Because it's not funny, and its not ok. There are people out there who are mentally retarded. And they and there family's are suffering through it day by day.
The word I choose is Just one small word, and one name in a sea of things that people use to put others down. So today on September 30th 2011 the one year anniversary of #LoveIsLouder I just wanted to stop and take the time to tell you how important it is for us as christians to show the world how Loud Love really Is!
